Dear artist,
Welcome to our platform and global community of street art lovers. Since the start of this adventure hunters from all over the world joined and started documenting urban art in their cities. These hunters have become ambassadors and important do this voluntary. Since summer of 2023 we invited artists to the mix because it made sense because you are the reason why Street Art Cities exists.
Once verified and set up your profile (you can find all the info on how to do this and why here on the forum) you can start building your own street art map on Street Art Cities.
THINGS TO CHECK FIRST
Chances are that some of your work has already been uploaded, so before you start adding your archives, have a look at what’s already there. Double uploads only polute the system and is confusing for our users.
Also a good piece of advice is to check the ‘unknowns’ of a city where you have painted. Maybe the hunter didn’t know who the artist was, so it would be great if we can solve these and assigne them to the right artist.
Uploading your work:
You can check our hunter guide on how to add artworks, it’s the same for artists.
Here are some tips :
Just like on the streets RESPECT is our key value, so don’t go messing with hunter’s uploads. Try to be respectful and if you have an issue with certain uploads, try reaching out ot the hunter to talk things through. Communication is very important. Everybody on the platform takes great pride of what they do and things can become sensitive at some point. But nothing what a good chat would solve.
LOCATIONS
The exact adress is crucial, because otherwise our users will be on a ghost hunt to find your work and that would be a shame. So adding the correct adress is very important. Finding out the exact location can’t be that hard if you reach out to the locals.
CREATION DATE:
Just below the location info you can find the creation date:
This will become important, because it allows us to create a timeline in the future. But even more important, this date will be used to receive your submittals for our monthly 'best of’s which will run on the platform instead of Instagram.
EXTRA INFO
Adding more info, like festival or organization is possible through our ‘marker tag’ feature. You can unfold it next to the SAVE button, under ‘advanced details’
Here you can add all this crucial info, and big bonus is that this info becomes searcheable on the platform/app.
We’re currently working hard on new things, but in our app there’s already some nice ‘engagement/ interactions’ functionalities implemented where our users can like, follow and even comment on your works.
