What are 'Hunters'?

Hunters are the Street Art Cities community members in charge of maintaining the artworks in a specific city.

Any user can sign up to become a hunter of a city. When you sign up, a Country Manager or Street Art Cities core team member will review your request. They will consider, among other things, the following:

  • Your affinity with street art and/or photography, and any links to a website, Instagram or Flickr account you have provided
  • The amount of hunters already operating in the city you’ve signed up for

Once you’re approved, you’ll receive access to the Hunter dashboard, where you can manage the artworks in your city.

Why can only hunters post artworks?

Street Art Cities has purposefully put up some hurdles to prevent everyone from posting, to ensure the quality of the artwork information and pictures posted remains high.

We also want to have individuals that can be responsible for maintaining their city for a longer amount of time, because street art is a very transient thing, and updating old artworks (e.g. marking them as removed) is as important as adding new uploads.

Can I still contribute without becoming a hunter?

Definitely! You can post community notes to let the hunters in your city and other visitors know when an artwork has been removed or information is incorrect.

Marking an artwork as ‘seen’ is really helpful as well, since it’s a strong signal to your city’s hunters that they won’t need to verify the artwork is still there for a bit longer.
