Community notes are how Street Art Cities app users can suggest changes or additions to artworks and places listed on the platform.
You can add a community note by navigating to an artwork or place details page, and picking from the list of options just below the artwork image.
Depending on the type of marker, the following options are available:
- Seen: I’ve spotted the artwork (lets us know it’s still there!)
- Can’t locate: I’ve not been able to find it
- Removed: I know for certain it’s gone
- Painted over: Something else has gone in it’s place
- Vandalised: It has been tagged or otherwise damaged
- Incorrect artist: The artist listed for this artwork is incorrect
- Wrong image: The image doesn’t represent the artwork or location
- Comment: Leave a general comment
All types of community notes (with the exception of ‘Seen’) allow the user to add text and images for context.
Community notes are displayed to other users in a section below the description of the artwork on the app:
It is also shown next to the description of the artwork on the website:
Hunters of the city also get notifications for new community notes, so they can update the descriptions, status or other details of the artwork where needed.
A hunter will see a list of relevant notifications in their inbox on the dashboard:
