Hola. Soy Pacotizon, cazador en Vigo y debo confesar que estoy muy decepcionado.
Llevo días sacando fotos y hablando con los artistas de la edición de Vigo,cidade de cor 2026 y cuando justo iba a subir la obra de arte de Jacqueline de Montaigne (de la que tengo muchísimas fotos), veo que ya la ha subido un tal Julian G D.
Me ha parecido una falta de consideración total. En el Foro se sabe, supongo, que soy un cazador activo y que subir murales requiere su tiempo.
Por otra parte subir una única foto me parece de una pobreza total y la artista se merece muchísimo más.
Pido, si se puede, volver a subirlo con mis fotos para hacerle realmente justicia a este mural y a su artista.

Thanks for sharing this and I completely understand your frustration. You’ve been doing fantastic work documenting Vigo, cidade de cor 2026, talking to artists, gathering photos, and preparing uploads with care. That dedication is exactly what keeps the platform strong.
What happened here is linked to the new suggestion feature we recently introduced.
Some users can now suggest artworks, but these suggestions do not get published automatically. They are only accepted by Super Hunters, who review and approve them.
In this case, the artwork by Jacqueline de Montaigne was added because a Super Hunter accepted a suggestion.
It’s also worth mentioning that Julian has been one of the overactive users when it comes to suggestions. We’ve already contacted him directly to remind him of our hunter guidelines and to slow down a bit.
On top of that, we’ve emailed all Super Hunters asking them to be extra careful when reviewing suggestions — especially in active festival cities where local hunters like you are doing the real groundwork. Ideally, these suggestions should be processed by the hunters in that city, since this is a new feature and everyone is still getting used to how it should work.
Of course, your photos and full documentation are more than welcome. Please add them to the artwork so the mural is represented properly and with the respect it deserves.

Is there a way to perhaps “slow down” the placement of “Suggestions” into a general queue for cities where there is an active CM and and/or active hunters. This would at least give the local CM or hunter a chance to review the edits / suggested artworks ?
I have had the situation where I’ve received a notification that there is a community note on one of my posts, I’ve gone in as soon as I’ve seen it and it’s convenient (I think it wasn’t that long after the notification), to find that a super-hunter on the other side of the world has actioned the Community Note, when really they can have no idea of the veracity of the data in the Community Note.
If Community Notes are not processed within a reasonable time I think it is fine to have Admins or Super Hunters process them, but for them to be jumped on immediately they are created when there are active hunters or CMs managing a city it does seem a little disrespectful to them.
Another option would be to just flag the Suggestions/Community Notes as ones that have active CMs / Hunters, I think I have seen a similar suggestion from Stef regarding this.

This kind of actions is what ruins this community, hunting should be about quality, not quantity, uploading artworks, with just a poorly framed and bad lit picture, with no context, no information, no Artist provided, should be the exception, not the rule.
What is the goal, getting a badge for uploading thousand of pictures in half the cities of Planet Earth? this only creates bad atmosphere for the people who take this documentation job seriously and frustration for the local hunters

Hola Pacotizon, por un lado entiendo tu postura, pero también debes entender que sugerir un bonito mural que otro admirador de murales y grafitis ha disfrutado, es lo el interes de que el resto de gente disfrute de el. Por otro lado Isabelle, una gran cazadora de murales en Francia seguramente quedo emocionada al ver el mural y también pensó en activarlo para que otros pudieran disfrutarlo.
Como Cazador de Vigo puedes mejorar la presentación del mural con mas y mejores fotos, y si has podido hablar con la artista, añadir comentarios.
También entiendo que tall vez habría que priorizar que la aceptación de las sugestiones para una ciudad con cazadores, la lleven en primer lugar estos, pero no veo que sea un problema tan grave que un super cazador acepte un mural tan bonito.

I totally get where you’re coming from, but I hope you can also see the other side: sharing a beautiful mural that someone enjoyed is really just about letting the community appreciate it too. Isabelle, who’s an avid mural hunter from France, was probably so thrilled to discover this piece that she naturally wanted to share it with everyone.
Since you’re local to Vigo, you’re in the perfect position to enrich the listing—maybe with even better photos or a few insights if you get a chance to chat with the artist!
I do understand the point about giving local hunters priority to review suggestions in their own city, but honestly, having a top hunter approve such a stunning piece feels like a win for all of us.

Completely agree, I rarely upload an artwork without knowing the artist and/or context. That’s why we started with this concept of working with local hunters who know the scene or are willing to learn more about it.
The new suggestion feature breaks this a bit, but with careful processing this shouldn’t be a problem. And these suggestions will surely add new hidden gems in the future.
Like all new features, this needs tweaking and we’re working hard on it.
Btw: love your uploads, these are exactly the quality uploads we dream of.

Andrew, you’re absolutely touching on something Stef and I have been discussing as well.
The speed at which Suggestions and Community Notes get picked up by super‑hunters is great for global QC, but it can unintentionally bypass the people who actually know the city and that’s exactly where things can feel disrespectful.
A few thoughts and a possible direction:
The core issue
Right now, Suggestions enter one global queue. The system doesn’t distinguish between:
-
cities with active CMs or hunters, and
-
cities that are basically dormant.
So when a Community Note appears, anyone with global permissions can act on it immediately, even if a local hunter sees the notification and jumps in minutes later.
And you’re right: someone on the other side of the world can’t realistically judge the accuracy of a note about a wall they’ve never seen. Or the Super Hunter should do a thorough search which can take up minutes or even more. While a local would process this faster.
The idea we should explore
For cities with active hunters or a CM, Suggestions could be held locally first.
Something like:
-
Local review window (e.g., 24–48 hours)
Suggestions and Community Notes appear only for the local team. -
After the window expires
They automatically move into the global queue for super‑hunters/admins.
This keeps the platform fast and clean, but still respects local knowledge.
Now we need to look at @thomas to see if this is technically feasable

That is exactly the sort of solution I was envisaging too. I would tend to push the window out to something like 72 hours as 24-48 is not long especially if the hunter wants to travel to check out the site (I sometimes do this).

Soy Julián GD, fui a Vigo sin el Menor conocimiento del mural La dama del agua de Jaqueline Montagne.
Me lo encontré por casualidad visitando obras ya registradas. No soy Hunter en Vigo. Utilicé la opción “Suggest a artwork”
No tengo inconveniente en borrar mi registro y permitir que la persona que se encarga de Vigo registre la obra con mayor conocimiento de la obra que yo
siento la incomodidad creada

De nada. Ya está subido el mural en cuestión. He incluido las informaciones que la propia artista me proporcionó en su día

I love this sentiment! And this is exactly the way I see this feature – it’s now easier than ever for everyone to work together to get the most complete information for an artwork, and add additional images, tags, etc.

I like this - that’s already how the notifications for pending suggestions work as well, super hunters and admins only get a notification about a pending suggestion after 24 hours.
I’ll explore implementing this in the coming week or two.
I think we also should probably look at how different types of edits stack up - deletion requests for inappropriate comments, and things like adding tags to artworks should still be fair game for admins or super hunters to accept immediately I think, since those don’t usually require local knowledge.

Thomas, could this be discussed with some experienced hunters before launching ? It would be a good opportunity to hear from people who are actually working in the field before implementing something new, and to anticipate any potential problems. The issue of interfering with CMs was really obvious, though… .
For features with a big impact on different levels (qaulity, CM, hunters) Community-> Ideas → Development-> Check in with few hunters and have a feedback / anticipate potential problems. This could save us hours (nadruk!)of communication endless texting, phonecalls…afterwards in our free time. This should be the new normal:). If we want to reduce the workload, it really starts there.
I’m absolutely in favour of deleting comments. At the moment, we can only delete our own comments.

That’s what this forum topic is about, isn’t it?
That is already possible - users can report comments from other users, and those reports will to into the review queue.

It would be appreciated that major changes would be discussed with the hunter community before launching. Forum is afterwards.
This has to change if we wanna bring hunters / CM’ers closer.
The mindset launch and others spend 2 weeks on the phone, mail, calls… .
At least the CM’ers could be informed and ask which potentials problems they see on the field.
This sentiment is not new.
