I recently received a question from a hunter that I think more people might relate to, so I’m bringing it here for discussion.
“How can I let hunters know about artworks that haven’t been hunted yet?It would be useful to post a photo with location details somewhere.I find it a pity that I can’t share these when I’m walking around a city and spot something.”
In short: sometimes you come across pieces that aren’t on Street Art Cities yet, but you don’t have the time or the access (this is the case for the general user) to fully hunt them yourself. Still, you’d like to share them so someone else can pick them up.
Ideally, this could become a new feature in the app. But until we get there, this section of the forum could help us explore how such a feature should work and what the community actually needs.
Question for all of you: What’s the best way for us to handle this within the community? What kind of solution would be most useful?
A few possible directions to think about:
A dedicated “tip” section where you can drop a photo + location without doing a full hunt
A forum topic per city where hunters can share tips
Something else we haven’t thought of yet
Curious to hear how you all see this. What would be the most practical and community-friendly approach?

I do like this idea, and having it in the forum would be great. Tied into this:
You know how if you are trying to upload an artwork, and when you give the location, red lettering pops up to tell you that you are a long way from the city you’re currently hunting in? What would be great is if it also offers you the option of posting that in the Hint area, wherever that finally ends up being.
This would, I think, be of benefit for new hunters who will post the artworks they’ve seen in other cities, in that period before they learn the importance of only hunting in your own cities (I know I fell into that category when I first started!)
Mentioned in the past a kind of a new layer (or upload a kind of a marker ‘?’ symbol) with ‘potential’ / to hunt artworks. I have shared already my Belgium to do map, my Portugal to do map with others…
We all have our own google ’ to hunt’ google maps, what if this could become a sac worldwide ‘to do’ map… .
Recently have been thinking about a country topic… since I work closely with my Country Manager @Erwin_Tommissen A section which is only for hunters in the country.
-Sharing locations new works / inside information about upcoming projects.
-making our own to do lists like archiving hall of fames etc.
Seem a good way to encourage the colaboration, but also add a tag with the name of who discover the graffiti (something similar of the tag of the photographer of the image if it’s not the hunter itself) could also cheer them on to participate.
Yes, I have had this experience also. So a new feature would be great. In the meantime, is it possible to let the active hunter(s)of that City know via DM?
We’ve discussed this before, and I’d certainly be in favour of having a specific map for each country.
Ideally, you’d have a map showing the artworks ‘up for hunting’, on which hunters could tick the murals, festivals or jams they’d like to take on.
This would allow hunters to be deployed more flexibly. Often all the works from ‘your’ city are already on the map, but you might pass through a city where you aren’t a regular hunter, and where you could add one or more murals to SAC by requesting temporary access from your CM. That way, all the missing works can be added to the map.
This also makes it easier for a CM, to keep track of things, and means you don’t have to keep contacting hunters personally to ask them to ‘hunt’ a wall. Hunters can then add murals and graffiti jams themselves, and the CM has a better overview of his hunters’ plans. It will only increase the interaction between the hunters and the CM of a particular country.
I have been thinking about something similar, but framed a bit different.
It would be cool if SAC or country managers could launch ‘challenges’, e.g. “Mapping shutters in March”, “Updating Glasgow for Yardworks Festival 2026”
By launching these challenges hunters could sign up to be a part of it, and track their progress together.
Still need to find out what the right tools would be that a team of hunters would need to effectively take on a challenge. You and Stef have mentioned some of them, ideally it would be configurable per challenge.
Definitely a big project to launch this, but I’d love to continue thinking about this together to see if we can shape it into something we can put on the roadmap!
It would be great if it could be something that works both for other hunters, as well as ‘regular users’. Especially the request from the second group is something that has been a wish for a long long time. Nailing that would potentially turbo charge documentation within a city/topic/whatever you define.
