Hey mural hunters!
We all love discovering new artworks, but let’s not forget the local festivals and organizations that make many of these murals possible. Giving them credit helps everyone, from artists to fans to event organizers.
That’s where marker tags come in!
They’re a great tool to connect murals to events or festivals. If you’re not familiar with them yet, check out this quick guide on how to use them:
All about marker tags
How to tag festivals properly:
To keep things clean and searchable, use two tags:
- The general festival name (e.g.
The Crystal Ship) - The specific edition with year (e.g.
The Crystal Ship 2025)
This makes it easy to find all murals from a specific festival and from a specific year, both on the website and in the app. In the future, we plan to use these tags to build dedicated tabs for each edition on festival pages!
Bonus tip:
Since marker tags are a bit hidden, it helps to mention the festival in the mural description too. Something like:
“Created for The Crystal Ship 2025 – view full map here.”
Let’s keep the community organized and give proper credit where it’s due! ![]()
