We’ve just rolled out some improvements to our artwork editing system that will make the revision process smoother while maintaining transparency. Here’s what’s new:
30-Minute Grace Period for Edits
What’s changed: You can now make multiple edits to an artwork within a 30-minute window without having to enter a new revision comment each time.
How it works: After you make your first edit (which still requires a revision comment), you’ll have 30 minutes to make additional changes. During this period, you’ll see a notification banner informing you that you can edit without adding new revision comments.
Why We Added This Feature
We’ve all been there, you submit a change, and seconds later notice a typo or small issue you want to fix. Previously, you would need to write a new revision comment for even the smallest correction. Now you have a 30-minute window to perfect your edits.
What Still Requires Revision Comments
The following changes will always require a revision comment (unless within your 30-minute grace period):
- Title changes
- Description changes
- Artist changes
- Location changes (address, coordinates)
- Status changes (active, removed, in progress)
- Image additions or removals
Improved Modal Layer
We’ve also fixed an issue where the revision comment modal was sometimes hidden behind other elements. The modal now properly appears on top of everything else, ensuring you never miss it.
Why Revision Comments Matter
Revision comments create a clear history of what changed and why. This transparency is crucial for:
- Understanding the evolution of artwork data
- Helping hunters and other community members follow changes
- Maintaining data quality through collaborative accountability
