Removal of Quality Control Role

Hey.

Earlier this week, the Quality Control role was removed from me with no notice or warning. Did the team decide to do this because I had disclosed that I had merged artists on the forum? Had I kept my mouth shut and not said anything, would it have remained?

You could have spared me the trouble by letting me know that the Quality Control role trial was going to end. Or did you just want to keep these functions close to and all by yourselves? Maybe I’m just a loose end you don’t trust? Instead it’s been stripped away from me with no courtesy email as if I’ve done something wrong.

So green tick is gone. You’ve decided that I’m not worth mentioning by name (yeah, you didn’t even apologise or acknowledge my concerns after addressing an email to me as “Hi [Name]”), and also decided to leave my last email to the support mailbox on read?

I’ve not done anything out of malice. When its needed, I’ll hop into the Quality Control dashboard to add a new city or two, or when I discover duplicate artists (lots of them in Adelaide and Christchurch) I’ll merge them. I also noticed that the artist “Buff Diss” was decapitalised by one of the team to “Buff diss” in Benalla earlier in the year, which was why it was only recently consolidated back to title case.

Should this be the way you treat one of your most devoted and industrious hunters, perhaps I’ve overstayed my welcome and should head out the door?

[disclaimer: I’m not a part of the core team]

Hey Briggs,

Sorry to read about your experience and the way you feel about things that happened. I feel there must be some other things going on, I can’t imagine they would take away rights intentionally without giving notice or explanation. Neither can I imagine they would do so for the reasons you think they might be.

I have come to get to know the team as extremely appreciative of active members such as yourself. I also learned that the entire team consists of only a hand full of people, that do all of the work besides their full time jobs. With the platform growing fast and developments piling up, this means that sometimes things take time and also that sometimes mistakes are made or things maybe don’t work as they should (yet).

I hope things get resolved, because I enjoy all of the good work you put in.

Briggs,

As we discussed on our call a couple of weeks ago and also an earlier call with Noah, the QC feature has been paused because we’re focusing on our current Country Managers. This already brings a bunch of things to surface we need to resolve.
The retraction of the green thick is the clean up we did following our recent introduction of CM’s.

As we talked about we love your work as a hunter and are looking for a way to involve you more. The decision to revoke the QC role is based on limiting issues that need to be resoved for now. We’re aware that if there are issue with the QC role, they need to be fixed, but we rather postpone these until later this year, when we have more DEV capacities available.

So apologies for not letting you know that this was about to happen, although it was mentioned a couple of times before. So you didn’t do anything wrong at all, and when we reinstate the QC role we will surely contact you about it.

Sincerely hope you understand this decision
