Is there an issue with the 'Seen' button?

Hello, I’m currently in Thessaloniki and seem to have an issue with the ‘Seen’ function. I’ve opened up an artwork in the App to mark it as ‘Seen’, but it already shows it as being seen by me from a year ago? I thought that the ‘Seen’ reset itself after 1 or 2 months so you could mark it as ‘Seen’ again?

Is this happening to anyone else, or is it just me?

There was an earlier post from @thomas that said the plan was for the seen status to reset like this after 3 months, but as far as I know this hasn’t actually been implemented yet.

Hmm, I thought it had been implemented, I’m sure I have already marked some artwork as ‘See,’ more than once? I might be mistaken though.

It indeed hasn’t yet, at least not fully. Our system will accept more than one seen from a user if it’s been longer than 3 months since the last one, but we haven’t yet updated the website and app to actually support that behaviour.

The main reason is that I’ve still not managed to find a good solution to show “you’ve seen this before” whilst also showing “but you can mark this as seen again”, without making that button confusing for users that don’t care about being able to mark things as seen multiple times.

One of those that needs to marinate at the back of my mind for a while, I think.

100% agree on the dual purpose of the seen button, i use both:

  • flag everything i’ve seen so when i’m in a tour on a well known place, i display only what’s not marked as seen (so likely new stuff that other hunters have added)
  • come back and re-check if art is still present and in good shape, and “re-mark as seen”, to confirm it’s “still there”

(there is now the possibility to delete a ‘seen’ note from the app, from the ‘…’ menu )

Oui mais c’est fastidieux… personnellement je le fais pour des lieux spécifiques sur Paris comme la “Rue Denoyez” ou certaines rues de la “Butte” comme ça je sais que je suis repassée ce jour là…les collages doivent être plus suivis que le reste surtout sur Paris ou il y en a beaucoup :wink:
