We’re adding a new role to the platform: Super Hunter.

Super Hunters are experienced, trusted members of the community who now have platform-wide edit rights — not tied to any single city. Their edits are automatically accepted, and they can review suggested edits from anyone, anywhere on the platform.

They also get their own profile decoration to recognise their contribution, so that you can recognise a super hunter in the feed and in community notes.

This lets us give a small group of highly trusted hunters more responsibility without making them full admins. It’s a way to scale up edit quality and review coverage across the platform with people we know and trust.

We’ll be slowly rolling this role out to a few community members in the coming weeks.

A big thank you to those that have been with us, and that have been sharing and uploading meticulously.

In the beginning, locking the growth of the community on a per-city basis, really made sense. Looking at our colleagues at UrbaColors, who had been at it for longer, we saw they had a very big challenge in managing quality and duplicates. Their model was: everyone can upload everything, everywhere in the world. Unfortunately they are not up anymore.

We aimed for a model where the hunter has a deep connection to the city he or she hunts in. This way we try to improve quality, hunting speed, and try to avoid uploading duplicates.

We’re about 10 years down the road now, so we could conclude that the basics; passionate experts (you!), powerful facilitating tech, the right attitude, are properly in place now! So it makes sense to now offer more flexibility to those that really know how the basics work. Something Stef pointed out a few months ago.

Training wheels are meant to build confidence, not become a permanent part of the bicycle. So yeah, a big thank you for helping us all build the core community and platform. Time to remove the training wheels for those that know how to ride!

I think the archival issue is fixed now - was a permissions issue!

Would it be possible as a CM to receive a weekly/monthly update on all changes made by super hunters? This way we can keep track of what happened in our country.

We can Reject - Accept - Accept then edit.

Dunno… But for me it feels more logic and safe to accept after edit? Maybe Its just me:). Maybe its technically easier accept then edit?

Can anyone answer the question of whether you can also make suggestions as a Superhunter from a PC? So far, I haven’t found a way to do it. Or does it only work with the app?

Agree with Anita’s request, and also think it would be useful for CMs to easily see which of their hunters have been awarded Super Hunter status, maybe by including the Super Hunter “star” or something similar on the Hunter List in CM dashboard.

The reason for this is that we want to be able in the future to cleanly show the history of these edits - e.g. “Person X added this artwork”, “Stef then changed the description to something more appropriate” is more logical than combining them, because then you wouldn’t be able to tell what was changed by which user.

On the website, you can go to any artwork and use the ‘Edit’ button when you’re signed in.

If you mean adding new artworks, you can also do that from the website, using the little ‘+’ icon at the top right.

Make sure you’re on the streetartcities.com website though, not the Hunter dashboard.

YES! I have found it - and tested it. And that leads to the next problem:

We have to train the system now to create a City (my exampöe is Gladbeck).

I have added two new pieces in Gladbeck West station. So far so good.

BUT - looking for Gladbeck (Explore) my entries don’t appear. Gladbeck is not on the map.

So - when the first piece is added at a position, the system has to create a new city. Then you will find it via explore city.

The new cities have to be created manually. Offered already my help to @TinyTim by mail for that.

Created Gladbeck and moved them from Bottrop.

@thomas : fair point if a Super Hunter adds a new piece in a new city, that it will be autocreated

Whereabouts do i find this profile decoration? I found the camera icon for hunter; I’m curious about the super hunter variant
