Hi from Stavanger!

Hello,
Thank you for the approval as a hunter. I’m Monica from Stavanger, Norway. I am quite new to have discovered street art and how amazing it is. Now I find street art everywhere, and I keep being impressed and amazed. I work as a tour- and expedition guide, I love to travel, take photos and meet new people and cultures. I tell all my clients about the street art app and how it’s a nice way to explore the city.

but…I do have an issue hunting and uploading the photos of new street art on the webpage and in the community. I’d love to get som tips or trics about how to do it.

Thanks Andrew,
I’m sure I’ll will figure it out. Probably just need to get familiar with the dashbord.
Do you have any tip of how to identify the artist when you have the signature?

My initial go-to method for identifying artists is to do an image search. Often that will throw-up someone elses photo of the piece that says who the artist is.
Failing that I will ask around my local street art contacts.
Then there’s always posting the picture in the forum here, someone might know who it is, either from the signature or the mural itself.

Also, did you know that when posting an artwork for an unknown artist, the SAC “standard” is to use “Unknown - cityname” (so for you it’d be “Unknown - Stavanger”) for the artist name. That way all your unknown ones are grouped under that artist name for easy review later.

Welcome Monica !
I am Isabelle, from Paris.
I identify unknown artist with Instagram using #artistname if you have some letters or #streetartcityname - #streetartparis for example -.

Hi Monica, nice to have you on board! There are some good info to be found in the Hunter Central > Hunter guides section of the forum. It’s good to read through those at least to get a sence of what it means to be a Hunter and how to upload works in the best way possible.

Some tips about finding the artist have already been given, but I can confirm that both Instagram and Google are great resources. If there is a name or signing somewhere, that is a good starting point to search for on both those platforms. Reverse image search also works well in most cases, especially for older works. The other thing I would recommend is to start following artists and organizations in your area, as they post a lot of info about new street art.

Happy hunting! And don’t hesitate to reach out on the forum if there is anything we can help you with.

Monica! Welcome to the Community from Cologne, Germany!

As I never have been in Norway by now, my happiness will grow further knowing that I can count on more streetart to discover (as soon as you are able to upload ). Thank you in advance and let me know when you are around.

Warm regards
Gabo :victory_hand:t2:

Great, thank you!

Can I hunt in multiple cities? I commute along the West coast of Norway and visit: Kristiansand, Stavanger, Bergen and Ålesund on a regular basis.

Today I found an amazing piece 1 hour North of Bergen, and I know of several more, but non are on the maps :frowning:
