One change I would like to see, that would make the lives of your QC team, and CMs much easier, is to not allow markers with no artist name to be published, in the same way that a blank location only allows a Draft marker.

I know it’s a bit late to bring this up, since it’s already an established practice, but I want to make sure I fully understand it anyways.
In my mind the whole ‘Unknown - City‘ thing has always seemed slightly confusing, because to me a blank artist field means ‘unknown‘ and doesn’t create ‘fake’ artists profiles and additional work for the hunters.
Is the reason y’all prefer the Unknown thing because it makes searching for unknowns easier? And would there be another way to enable you to do the same?
I’m just thinking about situations where we would want to list all of the unknowns - on a technical level that is more difficult with the ‘Unknown - City‘ artists, because it means I need to do a text search for all artists names that start with ‘Unknown‘, which might lead to some (albeit very rare) edge cases where a real artist name might actually start with the word ‘Unknown‘ (e.g. Unknownknowitall).
Also, in my mind it makes the work of a hunter more difficult by needing to know about this convention and to follow it exactly (e.g. often see wrong capitalisations, and I noticed I made a mess by using both ‘Unknown - Seattle‘ and ‘Unknown - Seattle, WA‘ last week).
Again, not necessarily suggesting we’d change it, just want to make sure I fully understand the use case.

For Melbourne, I will sometimes send the URL for the “Unknown - Melbourne” “artist” to other street art hunters/photographers who are not Melbourne SAC hunters - to ask them if they can help us identify any, this is a very useful thing for me.
Could the issue you had with Seattle or Seattle, WA be fixed by a further edit check on the artist name field that doesn’t allow any name that begins with “Unknown - “ that doesn’t match the concatenation of “Unknown - “ and the actual city name?
As a CM I have no issue with making it a little harder for a hunter to add an Unknown Artist marker as it seems that there is far too many adds of these on the platform that are easily identified with a little effort and there are some hunters who are not taking that effort.
If we are looking to measure Hunter performance with a leaderboard, I’d even say take points off every time a marker with unknown artist is added, encourage the effort to find the artist.
Also I’d love to be able to search for blank artist names for my city as a hunter, and for my country as a CM, so I could edit them correctly to the recommended “Unknown - Cityname” format.
