Ideally, it would be great if artists claim their own profiles.
Behind the scenes, many hunters and users are already in contact with artists, for example, to ask them to confirm their artist handles. This kind of interaction is essentially a form of hidden proof that the profile belongs to the artist.
Would it be possible to introduce a way to mark an artist handle as confirmed / verified?
Perhaps we could have:
-
A dedicated field to indicate that the artist’s handle has been confirmed.
-
An option to attach supporting evidence, such as a screenshot of an Instagram conversation in which the artist confirms their handle.
-
A manual approval process handled by a Super Hunter, admin or CM before the confirmation becomes visible on the artist’s profile.
Ideally, artists could eventually claim their own profiles, but this could be a good first step towards improving the reliability of artist information.
What do you think? Would something like this be technically feasible?
