Changes to User Management for Country Managers

We’ve made updates to the User Management component affecting what country managers can see:

  • “Insights” users are now only visible to super admins. Country managers will no longer see these accounts in their user list - these are city officials.
  • Email addresses are hidden from non-super admins. Only super admins will be able to view user email addresses going forward.

I am unfamiliar with what “Insights” users are. I assume there are none in Australia?
Can you explain what they are and what they can do? For example, can they add/edit artworks?

Will the country managers still be able to see email addresses for approved hunters as we can now? I believe we need that as we use the hunters email address to invite them to additional cities in our dashboard.

Edit:
I see hunter email addresses have been removed from the Manage User screen in the CM City dashboard. So how do we now invite hunters to additional cities?

Good point! I’d like to find another way to do that, so you don’t need to manually copy and paste email addresses. Will get back later this week with a solution.

The “insights” role is related to our official partner cities, who have access to a dashboard that shows them analytics about their city. We noticed showing those were causing some confusion, because they looked like inactive hunters in the dashboard.

There’s indeed none in Australia yet as far as I’m aware!

What is the reasoning behind hiding email addresses from Country Managers? I don’t understand why you need to do this?

The main reason is privacy - we’re not really supposed to leak personal details of users.

Also, from a user experience point of view, hopefully we can make things easier than having to deal directly with email addresses. Most other online platforms also don’t make you copy and paste an email address when you want to interact with other users.
