Can we update a route wish to add multiple new artworks but cannot see how to edit/add

Yes you should be able to do this.
Go to the Routes screen by clicking Route in the top navigator menu (See screenshot 1), then click the route in the list you wish to update.
You will go to the Edit Route screen where you can update the Title, Route Type and Description (see Screenshot 2).
Scrolling down you’ll see the list of artworks in the route (see Screenshot 3).
To delete an artwork click the trash can icon, to move an artwork within the route, click and drag the “hamburger” icon (three lines).
To add a new artwork scroll to the bottom of the list and use the search field to find the new artwork to add.

Thanks Andrew will try on my MacBook in next few days as didn’t work on App
Definitely easier on the laptop I find (as are most things for me anyway), but if you click the menu (three bars top right) in the Hunter Dashboard on the app and choose Routes, it should take you to the same place. I just tried it on iPhone and it seemed to work ok.
