Are we supposed to add Invader artworks?

I seem to remember there was a conversation some time ago where it was discussed that we were not supposed to add works by artist Invader, however I continue to see a lot being added.

Can someone please confirm what is the current situation as we do have a number in Melbourne we can add if it is now ok, and if it’s not ok should the many (over 400) that are on the platform be removed?

Can someone please confirm?

In the early days I made contact with the Invader team and then they asked us not to upload.

Recently i tried reconnecting to get their feedback again, because a lot of people were uploading them. No response, so I guess you can start adding yours too.

If at some point they reconnect, we’ll go from there

Thanks for that response Tim.

After some discussion with Lia and Neda, we have decided that in Melbourne we will continue to honour the artists original request and NOT upload their artworks in Melbourne unless we hear that they have changed their mind and are ok with it. We feel it’s important to honour the artists request.

I’ve emailed all our Melbourne hunters to this effect.

I fully agree with this decision. Not knowing the location of the Invader Was Here pieces is the very premise of the FlashInvaders app. The fun lies in hunting for and discovering them organically, which is completely in the spirit of what the artist(s) intended and what makes their app so engaging.
