AR experiences for artworks

Some artists have created artworks that can be enriched through AR. To give exposure to these AR experiences, we’ve added a way to link them from Street Art Cities.

When an AR experience is available for an artwork, a button like this will appear in the app:

Tapping it will open the associated web page or app.

As a hunter or artist, you can link these by adding the tag ‘AR experience‘ to your artwork under the ‘Advanced‘ menu in the artwork editor.

Thanks for this Thomas.

Just checking, would this also suit a normal video made of an artwork, like for example an aftermovie.

Yes, but it’s better to just add those using the ‘video link‘ tag, those are also being displayed in a much nicer way in the new version of the app that is dropping in the stores this week.

For Youtube, Vimeo and Instagram it will even find the video thumbnail and title in most cases:

Off course🤦‍♂️. Nice you added a little extra to that video feature too.

Now for that AR function, in case of Leon Keer. He has his own AR app for a lot of his recent work. So should I just add the link to that app , and what about when there’s an app for iOS and Android, what’s the best way to go about this.

Oh good one! There’s not really a built in solution for that right now, but you can use this tool to create a single link that will switch app stores based on which device you’re using:

Excellent upgrade guys, looking forward to playing with this, and getting a more immersive view of pieces I can’t / haven’t seen in the real world yet
