As far as I am aware, there are only two ways of finding removed artworks on the app, and both of them rely on either luck or existing knowledge.
Method 1: opening an existing artwork, where there is a timeline associated with it.
Method 2: Opening a list of artworks associated with an artist, scrolling through their works and noting any marked as removed.
Would it be possible to have on the app map filter an option to show only the removed works? Coventry is undergoing some major redevelopment in the centre, and many buildings have been lost; some of them had murals. I’d like to upload them, but what would the point be, if no one even knows to look for them?
Also, if a new artwork is going up, wouldn’t it help the hunter uploading that marker if they could check on the map to see if there used to be an artwork there? Sure, hunters should know the area, but what if the art had been removed long before they got into the street art game?
An option on the filter would be a great way to have a look at the past.
Good Point, was thinking of writing something about this. Now that the archive is growing it would be cool to make those easy accessible.
Maybe a filter ‘gone but not forgotten’ would be nice to reveal those.

I do like that category name 
There are map filters on the web site version that would allow this except they don’t work properly, there is a button to turn on/off Places, Active Artworks and Historical artworks. When you turn on Historical artworks it does add them to the map, but then turning off Active Artworks leaves them on the map too still. So, if each of these three buttons correctly filtered on/off properly this solution would work if ported to the app (see Fig 1).
There is also another way to see them for a city on the website version, go into the city, click the Artworks button then click Historic Artworks, this displays only the historic/hidden artworks in the city, you can then narrow the search of historic artworks by artist too.
Of course, you can do this on a mobile device by accessing the web version via a browser on the phone (see Fig 2).

Cheers for that. When I’m out hunting (on my android phone), I tend to use the mobile app for the map, and only use the website for uploading and popping on the forum. Whilst the map works reasonably well on my tablet, I can’t get the filter to show up on the web version on my mobile.
On the main page, I see this.
To get to the map, the only way I have found to get there is give a city location.
I can’t see any way of getting that filter up on my map. I can’t even find the “my location” feature.
There are indeed several ways to see them, but I think this could be better. Created a ticket to put it on our DEV team’s radar

Hey Stephen,
I rarely use the app but just had a bit of a play, and the behaviour of the website on my mobile browser is a little unusual too.
I’m on iPhone, using Chrome, so not sure if the behaviour will be the same for you, but I found when using the phone in Portrait mode I too couldn’t fnd the menu ellipses but when I turned the phone to landscape they became visible bottom left, and brought up the filter dialog when pressed, but it was a bit obscured by the main city window.
See attached, interested to know if you see similar on Android.
