Add more than one photographer

Hi there,

I try to add a seconde photographer to one of the mural of my hometown and I haven’t managed to do it.

I’m using the web page, as usual, and also tried with the app in the “hunter dasboard”, but

this button finally push me to the website.

Sometimes I have photos by myself and aso by other photographers while the artists were working on the mural, and I’d like to include them all.

Is that possible?

best regards

If you click into the Photographer Name field on each photo you can add the photographer for each photo. If you do not do this for any of the photos it is assumed that the hunter is the photographer. As soon as you have multiple photographers involved in the one artwork you really need to label every photograph with the correct photographer.

You can also, optionally use the Photographer tag in Advanced Details where you can also specify multiple photographers. The advantage to using the tag is that photographer name is then searchable.

perfect solution @Andrew_Haysom , I’ll use that info to write a little guide about the issue and link it in the FAQ section.

Thanks Andrew for the info,

I acheive adding the photographer name in all the photos taken by Yampo, but when I tried to add 2 names in the Photographer Tag inside advanced details, only one remains.

I use most of the time the web server, I perhaps have to do it using the app?

Cheers

Actually you are correct, the Photographer tag does not seem to allow multiple values.

@thomas - is this something that can be changed?

Well, I discover an easy way to put 2 photographers in tag: “Lulo, Yampo”.

And this way you can find the graffities of any of the photograhers

Cheers

I’ve just updated it - you should now be able to add multiple values into that tag!

Thanks for pointing that out @Lulo!

Related question: since we have that ‘Photographers’ tag, should we maybe move all of the ‘Attribution’ data (the little text fields per photo) into there, and delete the attribution field?

It feels like having two ways to indicate the photographer might be slightly confusing.

Thanks to you, Andrew.

And about the question, I undestand that the Tag allow to find images taking by each photographer, but also puting below each image also allow to know which one took each of them. Perhaps a bit more work, but that’s the hunter’s job, lol.

The only other thinks I see is that the users cannot see the photographer label in the images.

Cheers

Having it in one place is ideal, and I would suggest the best place to have it is in the photo. If you’ve multiple photographers, having the names attached to the photos is the best place.

I think that it is cool to be able to tell which photos belong to which photographer when you have multiple photographers, but I like the ability to be able to search on the Photographer tag too, and I know that a couple of the photographers from whom I get photographs love to be able to search on their name and find their contributions.

I’ve often wished for a way to go back and add the Photographer tag for artworks where I haven’t done so (most of my early posts would be in this category).

So, I guess my “ideal world” would be for the Photographer tag to be automatically added for each unique value in the photos for an artwork, and for old records to be updated in this way too.

I don’t ask for much, do I … lol.

Hi Andrew,

Do you mean like if you can set/adjust this in your profile? Just one of the entry fields when you register / and/or update your profile settings?
This would be really cool if our ‘photographers’ name would be added automatically to our photo’s. Saves a bit of time:).

No, that’s not what I meant, but I like this idea too.

What I meant was that let’s say for example I add an artwork and it has three photos with “Andrew Haysom” on them, and four with “Fred Bloggs”, that the system would automatically work out that I had two different unique photographers and automatically add Photographer tags for “Andrew Haysom” and “Fred Bloggs”.

Combine this with your idea where a hunter can put his “Photographer tag” in his profile and have it automatically populate any blank photos and you have a great solution.

I like this a lot! Have added it to the backlog, and will see if I can build a simple script to automatically do this for all old artworks that don’t have that tag set.
