A map filter for artists

Hi!

I’m in Bristol, and will shortly going out to look at some of the amazing murals in the city centre. I definitely want to see a Banksy or two, but how do you find where his works are just using the SAC, without having to use Google Maps? I know Hanging Man is near me… somewhere?

If i do a search for Banksy, I do get a fantastic list of locations, and the Hanging Man does give me a map location…

…which can’t be zoomed in on, but will take you to Google Maps.

What would be really good is if you could add (perhaps as part of the search results page), the ability to go to the SAC map and show only the location of results of the search. This could be extended further, by showing the location results for artworks by city (useful for quickly identifying artworks at a glance those assigned to the wrong city).

I appreciate that this might not be that easy to do, but if it could be considered for the future, that would be brilliant!

Fair point!

If you open Banksy’s artist profile on the website, it does have a little map at the bottom of the page.

@Streetartwerpenaar has previously also mentioned we should add this to the mobile app, so I’ll bump it up the priority list.

Stephen,
I’ve wanted to do something similar on a couple of occassions and what I’ve done is open the website in a browser on my phone, then search for the city, then clicked artworks button and then used the search field there to type the artist name.

Then, I’ll usually right-click (or hold) each image to open another browser window for each artwork and look through them.

Clumsy I know, but it works.
