30 minute grace for new markers

Hi!

A recent change to editing a marker means that after you have made an initial revision, you don’t need to keep on adding revision notes for 30 minutes. That grace period is brilliant, as i am sure we’ve all spotted a typo after posting the amendment.

What would be really good, is if this 30 minute grace period could also be extended to brand new markers. Yesterday, I posted a new marker in Rugby:

After double-checking the location on the map, I realised the marker wasn’t in quite the right spot¹. So I had to edit the marker, added the revision note, and published.

…And then realised one of the original photos hadn’t loaded. So, it was back to editing. Didn’t need another revision notes this time, as i was now in the grace period.

I’ve also noticed that if I save a new marker as a draft and then go back and publish it, a revision note is needed for that. Any particular reason why? It’s not like it had been published yet. If new markers from drafts can also get that exemption, then that would be great, too!

¹Secondary question: is there any reason why the map used for locating the marker can’t be the same as the map used on the app? There are sometimes subtle differences between the maps, and it sometimes makes positioning a bit tricky, especially where extreme zoom on satellite views aren’t helping.

Good points. I’ve been asking myself the aame questions.

Agree with both these suggestions, it is especially frustrating having to write an explanatory note when images don’t load and you have to quit out and redo. These image load issues have been happening a lot to me recently.

Agreed, will add it to the list!

And I’ll have a look at why the image upload might sometimes not work, that’s strange!

If it helps Thomas, my failures usually occur when I try to upload multiple images, the usual symptom is they get to 100% but the image never shows and it just sits there with the 100% and blank images. Usually works if I upload one at a time, but this adds considerably to the effort of creating a post I think.

It’s similar with me. Generally, uploading multiple isn’t a problem, but it happens every now and then.

What is always an issue though is if I’m impatient when uploading singles, is if I start uploading the next one before the previous one fully uploads. This happens when I see 100%, but don’t double check that the image has appeared. At that point, uploading the next image stops the previous one from completing the upload.
