Spring-Summer 2026 roadmap

We want to share a bit of what we’ll be working on to elevate the platform and the community the next few months, and of course would love your input!

Here’s what’s coming up for spring 2026:

1. Elevate the visitor experience in the app :white_check_mark:

Our core team member Noa is doing his bachelor’s degree graduation project with us in the coming months, and is going to focus on levelling up the visitor experience of using the app to find artworks in a city.

There’s going to be a big focus in his research on how to implement positive gamification patterns, where visitors are going to be encouraged to come back to the app frequently, as well as improving the quality of the data (by encouraging things like liking and marking as seen where appropriate).

2. Finishing our new insights tools for cities :white_check_mark:

We’ve been doing a lot of work in the last few months on our insights dashboard for municipalities, which helps them see the impact of street art on their city and execute on their street art strategy. This is important as a means of funding SAC and further platform development.

There’s a bit more work to be done here to finish this up, mainly around the following areas:

  • Automatically generated yearly reports for our official partner cities
  • More detailed insights in footfall and potential economic spinoff
  • A new version of Street Art Codes to create city-wide galleries
  • New marketing product pages on our website to show what we offer official partners

3. Rolling out tags for artists :white_check_mark:

Artworks have had the ability to add tags for year or two now, and they’re being used a lot: more than 125,000 tags have been added to artworks so far!

We have started work to roll out the same tagging functionality to artist profiles. This will allow a few new cool things in the future:

  • Removing the need to repeat certain tags on each artwork, e.g. the ‘Artist nationality’ tag
  • Linking artists that often work together, or linking an artist collective’s profile to the profiles of the individual artists in the collective
  • Collecting details on the art styles of artists, making it easier for municipalities to find artists they want to invite to their city in the artist directory

We’ve made a small start on this by allowing admins to edit these tags, but we still have a lot more work to do to:

  • Make these tags visible on the website and in the app
  • Allow hunters to edit some of these when adding artworks for an artist
  • Allowing artists to manage their own tags
  • Allowing searching and browsing by artist tag

4. Dashboard design and layout cleanup :white_check_mark:

We’ll also be doing some small work on the SAC dashboard for hunters, artists and country managers.

This will mainly revolve around updating the navigation menu, and switching to a sidebar that makes it easier to access all of the tools and options available.

In addition, we’ll also be redesigning the artwork editor slightly, to put tags front-and-center, and reduce having to click to see all the information for an artwork.

5. Ensuring business continuity

2025 has been a bad year for getting government grants, which means that we’re more than ever dependent on official city partners and our supporters to keep the platform up and running.

This spring, we’re working hard on doing more outreach to cities, and working with partners to organize things like the Street Art Expert Conference last week.

If you want to help SAC stay sustainable as a business, please consider becoming a supporter, which starts at only $2 per month!

Late additions:

6. Super hunters and edit suggestions :white_check_mark:

We realised in the summer that we needed to do some work to make sure we could deal with the current scale of the community.

As part of this, we introduced a new role, for trusted hunters that allows them to hunt and edit anywhere in the world: Super Hunter.

We also made it possible for everyone to suggest edits to artworks, artists and tags, to get closer to our ideal of being the Wikipedia of Street Art.

Want to know more, or share ideas with the team? We’re organising quarterly roadmap sessions for the rest of the year.
