Outdoor Galleries

Hi,

I have establishrd a new place in Essen, which is an outdoor gallery with 31 artworks related to it.

The map shows a red dot only with a number (32)

Opening the databox, the symbol for the Outdoor Gallery is includes inside.

I would like it more to find the symbol at first sight at the map. And the box with the correct number of artworks.

What do you think about that?

Hello Andrea,

Totally agree. I mentioned this already several times to exclude a place from a cluster.
Hopefully, @Thomas on the to do list?:))).

When you have hunted a gallery, or collective wall that is multiple artists . How do you input it correctly so that it will show up like this or so that the location Is connected along an entire back alley or area.

Also the one I found has alist of the artists but I’m not sure all of which pieces belong to which artist.

Hi from Essen,

I take at first the whole wall as an overlook and then every single piece (as far as I can recocnize it as connected).

The best way to connect the piece and the related writer/s is instagram. I start with the information I have and look for comments. Sometimes I ask the artist I have identified for more informtion. Its a puzzle and not successful at all times. In any doubt, you have last option: Unknown - city. Not nice and not perfect, but you can fill the artist in.

The next step is to get it in a row. You can influence it by the way you edit the pieces. You have to edit it in the same order as on the wall. The position on the map has to be always the same.

That’s the way to go:).

Hey Andrea,

how did you connect the individual artworks with the place?

I’ve tried by editing a place and advanced details / Tag: related artworks. But after saving it I still cannot see the artwork listed under the place as in your outdoor gallery in Essen :frowning:

I’d appreciate any feedback on that :folded_hands:t2:

Hi Praha,

as far as I can see, there are no relsted artworls linked to the Place Galerie Podchod.

  • Open the Place and set the tag related artworks
  • then add all the artworks you want to have in this Place
  • save the place

When you open the Place in Explore the City you’ll find it.

Hope I have explained it in a proper way to understand…

Andrea

Thanks! I believe I just did it that way. Maybe the system need some more time to show the relations within the app. Or maybe I need to add some more artworks related to the place (I’ve tested it with only one). Anyway - thanks for the inspiration and additional tips on that!

OK. I see!

Its in addition a problem that I work at home (to edit my datasets) with a desktop only. The app I do use outside, but for travelling only.

Meanwhile just one connected artwork is to be seen in that place.

BUT: You have a lot of pictures due to the place.

You have to add those pieces as individual artworks first and then add them as related. Maybe that’s the core of the problem.
