New: Fill the gaps — help complete missing artwork info

We’ve added a new Fill the gaps page to the website, available under the Explore menu.

Some of artworks in our archive are missing basic info, like an artist name, creation date, or title. This page brings them all together in one place, making it easy for the community to spot and fill in the blanks.

The page has three tabs to start with:

  • Unknown artist - artworks with no artist linked
  • Unknown creation date - artworks without a known creation date
  • Untitled artworks - artworks with no title

You can filter results by country and city, and the link updates as you go, so you can share a specific view directly with others.

Let me know if you have more suggestions on how to expand this page!

This is wonderful! I’ve been trying to add artist names to the missing Edmonton ones as much as I can.

Quick question though, I have asked street art artists if they have a name for their murals, most do, but I get the occasional one who wants it to be left untitled.

Is there some way to keep a piece untitled without it popping into the fill the gaps page?

I would prefer to find the title field filled. Unknown for I don’t know it. Untitled for the artist doesn’t titled it. An unfilled field can also be a forgotten entry. Then that shouldn’t be allowed to be uploaded.
